IMPORTANT: Store the IpMasterPro v3.5 in a different sub-directory than IpMaster v3.1. Update to the most recent IpMasterPro v3.5 by downloading the 15-day free trial. Store the IpMasterPro35.zip file in the same location as you did previously, and unzip in the same location as well, overlaying the older files. Run Setup...Setup will issue a message warning of the overlaying of a licensed version, however will also say to press YES if this is an update. Install to the original location as well.

IMPORTANT: IF THIS IS AN UPGRADE, DO NOT un-install the previously licensed versions before installing an update, or you will end up with a trial version that will expire after 15-days.

As with any BossTech product, you must keep the original installation files together, and in their original names. When prompted for a Save location, allow the original file name, "IpMasterPro.zip", to remain intact throughout the download process, and Setup process. However, you will want to place the "IpMasterPro35.zip" file in it's own sub-directory somewhere. It is advised to 'Save' the downloaded "IpMasterPro.zip" file, rather than selecting "Open" from it's own location, during downloading....in a sub-directory somewhere, one that you intend to use for installation files.

When the download is complete, UnZip, using WinZip, the "IpMasterPro.zip" file in the same download location. Run Setup.exe, Accept the License Agreement, then press Next. The File Locations defaults should be accurate, press Next. When you're ready to finish the Setup process, press Next again.

The new IpMasterPro v3.5 will operate on Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Me, Windows ’98 2nd Edition. Due to the new warp-capture engine architecture, there a couple of Windows components that must be on-board for IpMasterPro v3.5 to use... they are :

1 ) IpHlpApi.dll – Can be found on your installation CD(s), or simply do a Google search on IpHlpApi.dll to find a myriad of sites that have it for download. IpHlpApi.dll can also be obtain from Microsoft, www.microsoft.com. At Microsoft also do a search on IpHlpApi.dll

2 ) WinCap - included in the IpMasterPro v3.5 setup processes. During the IpMasterPro v3.5 installation, the WinCap procedures were traversed and should now be on-board. WinCap can also be obtained from a variety of sources on the internet. http://winpcap.polito.it/  is a dependable site for WinCap downloads and installs. They have an Auto-Installer download. WinCap is available across all Windows platforms.
While WinCap is installed during the normal IpMasterPro setup process, the best way to find out if IpHlpApi.dll is on-board ( it usually is ) is to start IpMasterPro v3.5. If errors occur, you may have to install, or re-install IpHlpApi.dll.
** VERY IMPORTANT ** : When installing IpMasterPro v3.5 or later, with the IpWallMaster v1.0 firewall or later, you must synchronize the Rules Configuration files. After installing both, with IpWallMaster closed and not running, go to the IpMasterPro v3.5 "File" menu and select "Create/Select Firewall Rules" and create a rules configuration as outlined in the Help ( F1 ).  Or, the same can be accomplished by opening IpWallMaster, with IpMasterPro v3.5 closed and not running, and re-selecting the rules configuration file ( .cfg ) from the File->Open menu. Missing this step will cause each product to maintain their own rules config files, hence things may not work as you expect. We recommend you use IpMasterPro to set the rules configuration file synch as outlined at the beginning of this paragraph.

Lastly, with IpMasterPro v3.5 closed and not running, you must open IpWallMaster and perform a Start and Stop one time to ensure all other synch settings are set properly.

VERY IMPORTANT: To ensure IpWallMaster uses the same network interface as IpMasterPro for monitoring, select an appropriate network interface from IpMasterPro's File menu...Properties, press the Interfaces button. Once selected, select Scan->Start Scanning and bring up a browser or retrieve your email...so as to see network traffic actually coming into the main window Ip monitor ( View->IpMaster Ip Monitor ). If do not see traffic, you may have selected an inappropriate interface, hence go back to File->Properties and select a different interface...until you know you have the right one. This is a problem for IpWallMaster. By itself it selects the first interface it finds. Specifying an interface from IpMasterPro instructs the IpWallMaster firewall to use that selected interface, rather than the first one it sees.

At the end of the Setup process, open your Programs menu...right click and "Sort by name". The IpMasterPro menu will appear.

Lastly, it is important to understand, leave the original installation files in the same, and original, locations. This is imperative in order for an un-install to take place. Always un-install by selecting Setup from the Programs->IpMasterPro menu, then click Un-Install and follow the directions. This is the only way to guarantee a clean un-install. When backing up your drives, to reformat for instance, always un-install IpMasterPro first, copy the files onto some storage media. Then you can restore them to the newly formatted drive and re-install.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You must Un-Install IpMasterPro, using the Programs->IpMasterPro->Setup application, then ZIP the install files into an IpMasterPro.zip file, in the same location, when wanting to backup IpMasterPro v3.5 and Re-Install later. This must be done to comply with IpMasterPro's copy protection policies.

If also purchasing IpWallMaster, the integrated firewall, you must run IpWallMaster and start the firewall before IpMasterPro v3.5 will recognize it as integrated.
